Does anyone have an idea how easy would it be to become a management accountant with MAAT, no CIMA etc? I’m currently an assistant accountant.

It is and it isn't.
I've been an MAAT management accountant for a number of years and it only seems to be a problem when you get further up the ladder as its then used as an excuse not to either promote or hire you.
I've been to interviews with feedback of being one of the stronger candidates only to be told that the bank want to see a management accountant with more qualifications.
It also depends on what size business your looking to get into the larger businesses usually have a qualification requirement once you get past the lower levels. The smaller business are more concerned with what you can actually do and can you do the job.0
