Continue with AAT or Move on to CIMA

Good Afternoon, I am just about to complete my Advanced level AAT, and have been given the option at work to either continue on and do Level 4, or move straight on to CIMA. I have no real idea which is the better route to take. I plan on doing CIMA long term, but is it better to stick with AAT then start on CIMA after that?

Any advice is massively appreciated.

Thanks

    Hi Thomas,

Personally I would finish AAT. You have already started and therefore might aswell finish, gaining your MAAT letters. Also completing the Level 4 Professional Diploma will exempt you from the first level of CIMA "Certificate Level". Then as you stated you can move onto your CIMA studies later on.

Best wishes with whichever route you decide on to continue your studies.

I have been looking into this too recently and I think from the research I have done that you need to have completed upto and including level 4 to get exemption from the first level of CIMA (I may be wrong though.) I am therefore intending to move onto level 4 before starting CIMA. Good luck.
