Is MAAT required to start ACCA/ACA?

I have got only one exam left before I finish my AAT Level 4 and I want to progress onto ACCA or ACA after. But I'm slightly confused. Do I need to get the MAAT to become qualified or am I automatically qualified once I pass all the exams? And what are the benefits of being MAAT?
Many thanks in advance

No, to get exemption from ACCA papers F1-F3, you must have completed all of AAT Level 4 (or equivalent). You do not need to have actually taken up MAAT status to gain the exemptions.
MAAT status shows clients that you are a professional accounting technician, and also shows the same to your employer or potential employers, as well as enabling you to go on to apply for MIP status if you want to move into self-employment.
Good luck with your last L4 exam! (btw, which one is it?)Accounts Executive, ғɪᴀʙ ᴍᴀᴀᴛ

Ooooh, good luck with that! My last two at level 4 were BTAX and PTAX - they were a couple of doozies! (I kept confusing the personal tax rules with the business tax rules, which didn't help! xD)akucha said:Thank you very much!

If you're in work you can probably get MAAT the same day you pass. You can fill out all the details now so it's ready to be submitted.
I actually got my MAAT certificate before the Level 4 one arrived.AAT Level 4, MAAT
