I would like to gain more experience but I am self employed and working from home

I wonder if anyone is in the same situation. I would like to qualify to prepare VAT returns (I am AATQB) for clients but I am lacking relevant experience. Is there a way to qualify for this without working in a practice? My clients are mainly individuals and have remote accountants so they are unlikely to help.
