Bookkeeper qualifictions

I'm more than a little embarrassed to ask this now, but when I started my AAT Level 2 qualification a couple of years ago recall being advised that to be able to be a bookkeeper (basically sub contracting myself was my aim at the time) I'd need Level 2 plus the first module at Level 3.
Slow forward a couple of modules and fast forward during furlough the rest I am now waiting for the test centre to re-open to take my exam hopefully before having to go back to work, understandably they have to be safe first.
It now looks like misunderstood & l need Level 3 as well.
Is that correct, and what could I have believed I understood about the L2 + ist step of L3?
