Hi, i'm the same! Trying to get my head round it, found a few useful videos on YouTube. When are you due to sit the exam? Mine's booked for 15th Dec but debating to hold it off as juggling Credit too which is in a couple of weeks!0

I didn't find the Business tax that bad. I did personal tax first which I suspect helped. But that was a while ago now.AAT Level 4, MAAT

@thelowendtheory18, same here but don't want to push myself if I'm not ready. I don't know if the act will change that much? I find the subject so boring! I'm doing it through college and we got told what options we were doing π.0

Its Not the most exciting subject lol . It's just a lot to go through I find ..... no idea how much the act will change, but I can't imagine it will change that much?AAT

I've managed to move my exam date to 22/12 (only an extra 3 days ..lol) but I've stuck with the studying every day after work and on weekends and should complete the knowledge phase of the unit in a few days....... that gives me circa 3 weeks to get ready for the exam.. which should be enough time
I can't get over how large this unit is ..(it's even bigger than FSLC & decision and control).... but the exam is only 2hrs...... strangeAAT

That's good! So I decided to concentrate on credit for my exam the Thursday just gone and it got cancelled due to the college having problems with their server! My tax exam is on 15th, we've only just finished input this week! Idon't feel ready at all. I totally agree with you about the volume of information for tax compared to the exam time! How's your studying going for it?0
-
Oh that doesnt sound great.... what section are you on?
Not too bad although I've not looked at thr mocks yet.... I had the mind set of not needing to rely on the reference material (that's what I managed with the indirect tax exam).... but the content is so damn vast that it's impossible not to need ItAAT

We did reliefs, none of the class feel any the wiser for finishing the module! Lol. I had the same thinking with reference. Our tutor seems to think we will be OK and the questions won't be too bad...0

Yh, The exam has a decent pass rate, it doesn't sound like a nightmare one... like with everything else if the work is put there is a decent chance of getting a good result.AAT

That's good to hear that the pass rate seems ok! Do you study through a college or distance? A girl at work has mentioned that if we sit the exam by 9th Jan should still be 2016 exam, not sure if this is true as debating to move mine. The college server still down too so can't get practice papers either.0
-
I study on Demand.... all online, if you sit the exam in Jan-21 I'm pretty sure that you'll be following the finance act 2020 (exams currently follow the FA 2019)AAT

Not sure if its just me but after completìng the aat mock the time is IMO quite tight...... not much time to mess around
I'm drafting my capital allowance & share pool computations on paper before entering it on the computer .... it's quite time consuming .AAT

Managed to pass the exam... with 88%(thought I just scraped it at best).. so relieved I don't have to learn the new tax rules for the new year.
the exam Is fair with it's questions. no major surprises ... (the exam is tougher than the mocks but thats to be expected) ..
but I found 2hrs was quite tight for me...AAT
