Would anyone have any advice how to help a career move?

Hi all,
I have been in catering for 16 years and am now trying to move over to a finance role. I feel the lack of experience on my CV is an issue, but I am not sure if it is due to the current economic situation why I have no success. I feel there would be great personal benifits if I could manage to secure a finance role. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest that you sign up with an agency to find you something suitable. With your experience not being in accounts it may be at a lower level, however coming from a kitchen you should be able to handle the stress and deadlines.
It's going to be difficult within the current climate as the number of people going for jobs has increased but I would speak to Hays/Page personnel etc to get their feed back as they'll know the current market position.
