Further studies after AAT

Hello,
I have completed AAT earlier this year and planning to start CIPFA. I wanted to know if any student decided to study CIPFA after AAT and how did they find it. I know most students here either pursue further studies in ACCA /CIMA.
A bit of my background, I have been working in local government since I left school. I enjoy working in public sector. I wouldn't have mind studying Acca as it opens more door compare to Cipfa. However its difficult one of the reason my employer will fund Cipfa not Acca plus i will have time off for studies and exam. Currently I am working full time so I really need to have a time on hand for studies.
I have read few online reviews. It seems Cipfa is little difficult compare to Acca.

If anyone can share their experience please that would be great.
