Bookkeeping alongside full time work

I’m have just qualified as AATQB and am nearly at the end of level 4 professional diplomas. I’m working in a full time finance job and been there since I left college. I’m thinking about starting some bookkeeping on the side in evening and weekends, maybe a couple of clients a month just to get more experience in different industries and situations and potentially in the future I can move to doing that as a full time job. Is it realistic to think this is possible alongside my full time job? Has anyone else tried this?
If so, any suggestions on getting started?
Thank you

It is possible, but do bear in mind that if you provide such services on a self-employed basis whilst a student member of the AAT, you will be required to hold a licence and have Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII).1
