I was let go after 9 months at a top 10 firm from the personal tax department (due to performance which was also impacted by my mental health at the time).

I've passed ATT paper 1 and paper 2 in November and trying to go back into tax as I still enjoy it. There haven't been many vacancies in my area for junior level roles and when I apply to some firms for a training contract I get rejected either after the assessments or instantly.

Would it be wise to apply to firms just asking for work experience, I want to try and get more exposure in corporate tax too, so a pure corp tax role or mixed tax role would be good.

Let me know your thoughts? Has anyone had luck with this before?
