Finance Manager (Maternity Cover - up to 12 months)
Rate of Pay; £29,000 - £31,000 per annum
National Office / Remote field-based
Hours –37.5 hours per week

A job with YHA could see you supporting YHA to achieve its mission and strategic objectives by managing the Finance Officer (Accounting and Controls), ensuring the transactions within the balance sheet are accurate and meet accounting standards. You will also liaise closely with the property team to ensure meaningful reports are created to monitor spend.
Finance Manager skills and experience:
Confident and skilled communicator
Ability to build effective positive and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally, influencing across multiple functions and teams.
AAT/CIMA Part Qualified or equivalent experience
Excellent organization skills
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to prioritise, organize and deliver work accurately to defined standards and deadlines.
Good ICT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft spreadsheet applications to intermediate level.
Pro-active problem solver
Strong attention to detail
Experience of using finance systems
Finance Manager responsibilities:
You’ll ensure accurate reporting, accounting and control on all property related transactions by;
Completing accounting transactions for property disposals, turnover rent liabilities, lease liabilities and renewals,
Managing capital/revenue accounting and ensure it complies with policy standards
Maintaining the fixed asset register, ensuring full reconciliation to the nominal ledger
Preparing the year end schedules for audit
You’ll build relationships with both internal colleagues and suppliers, working closely with external auditors and assisting with analyses to support the year end accounts in respect of fixed assets and balance sheet assets and liabilities. And you’ll ensure that the staff expense process is performed and meets with relevant HMRC guidance.
You’ll oversee the balance sheet – managing the Finance Officer, ensuring that the balance sheet reconciliations are performed, and that the data on utility usage and consumption is managed, resolving any billing issues to provide accurate figures for reporting in the management accounts.
You’ll produce the budget cash flow and balance sheet in conjunction with the hostel overnights budget, working closely with the commercial team to prepare overnight budgets for the hostel network and undertaking appropriate check to ensure a reasonable budget. You’ll also collate the necessary information to prepare budget values for utility usage, rents, AA expenditure, interest and depreciation.
Producing weekly and monthly cash flow reports along with forecasting.
