Is there VAT on Starbucks? Can we claim it?

I know this may sound like a silly question but do you claim vat on Starbucks? I know McDonalds and other food restaurents charge VAT on their sales because they are "serving" you. Is this the case for Starbucks as well? The reason why I am unsure is because they do not show it on their receipt.

    If you have the receipt then you should be able to work out the VAT whether it is shown or not.

    May i add a receipt with the VAT number on it. Be sure to check out the VAT rates on HMRC to see if the item has VAT applicable to the item
