PEV Past Paper answers complicated

Has anyone found the model answers for some of the past papers more complicated than you could ever answer ?<BR><BR>I am refering to the memos, some of the answers have been worded in such a way that you would need to swallow a dictionary to be able to answer them. I am finding the memos for Section 1 the hardest as they vary widely from variances to FO appotionment, to activity based costing. From looking at the June 2004 paper there has been a trend towards more memos which is a big worry. I believe the split from calculations to memos is more like 50-50. Anyway its all very hard to take in and memorise all the facts, anyone else finding that

    Have been advised to answer all in bullet point format and not to mess about with essays. We have been taking the p*** out of the memos in class as AAT are trying to make it more like everyday life. Hence the Vocational Qualification. A member of our class mentioned that they should use email templates as this is more commonly used. Another mentioned that it is so ridiculous that we will be using a text message template in future. Just imagine it...<BR><BR>Th rtrn on cap emp iz... <BR><BR>Good luck with it. Just dont waffle too much... just repeat what you see and repeat the calculation in your written answer. Then go on to say why this has happened...<BR><BR>Good luck, are you doing the exam on Monday??? Im petrified!!! We have learnt PEV and PCR in 2 months flat... the only one who is confident is our tutor!!!

    We have been told if we run out of time with memos just to write down what comes into our head at once. I am writing down a sensible answer then when I mark the question from the model answer I have missed something. I am trying to remember one or two points for each theory area and hoping that nothing too complicated appears on Monday morning. My main weakness is ABC Costing and the theory around variances

    Hi Daniel,<BR><BR>I totally agree with you on the basis of the answers for the PEV June 04 paper...<BR><BR>I actually took the Dec03 paper last year, passed S1, failed S2...don't know how that happened!!! I've been sat going over both papers over the last few days & i came to do June 04 paper & i'm had kittens...literally...when looked back over the answers for the memo's! I was mortified & now i'm feeling like crap really.<BR><BR>They seem to like seasonal variations & moving averages and trends a lot in this paper on S1.2, not to mention setting the standards!! <BR><BR>Anyway, best of luck & let me know what you thought of it as I shall also be resitting this time around.<BR><BR>Best regards.
