Ltd Company with investment

I'd like to hear about experiences others have had where a Limited company receives investment.

I joined a company almost 1 year ago with a view to making improvements etc. in preparation for the exit in 5 years time.

I'm particularly interested in hearing about culture change and who drove the change. How did senior management behave? Were they all aligned? Did one member take control and force decisions and change? Was the business split?

I'm experiencing unpleasantness and I wondered if this is normal in these situations. Investors are powerful people, if there are concerns about decisions, how do you challenge them?
