I was interested to see how many had read the thread on Dodgy Stuff. Would any other members or students wish to share their experiences that they have come across. This forum is an ideal place for us to share, teach, learn and debate the issues on fraud and ethics. What may be ethical to one may not be to another. When I was living in England I attended the AAT seminar on Ethics in Leeds which I found very interesting. Any member or student who is interested in the area of anti-fraud should visit www.cfenet.com which is the home site of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. The ACFE recognize the AAT qualification, allowing points towards membership and writing the CFE (UK) exams. Also, they have a UK Branch Network which has seminars throughout the year. Lets hope we get some interesting stories so that we may get the debates going.

With regards to my post above. If you the consumer were offered a product from a business for a lesser price using cash would you accept, knowing that they were not going to put it through their books? Do you think that it is just their responsibility to report the tax due to the Inland Revenue?

If you are wondering about the date/time on each post we are 5 hrs behind in Canada.

If I was aware that they were acting fraudulently I would not take advantage of the lower prices on offer. I would however request some "hush" money.

Seriously though I would pay cash to get the lower price unless the business informed me that they intended to act fraudulently.

Name and Address supplied.
