Hi, just thought Iâ??d post a new topic as Iâ??m a new member!

Iâ??ve only just started the AAT Intermediate course not so long ago and am really enjoying it. Because of my past qualifications at A level my local college and company thought it would be best for me to join Intermediate level and skip Foundation. I was just wondering if anybody else is in the same boat as me, and how they fit studying in with a busy life style, and a demanding job. Some tips and pointers would be much appreciated as well as recommendations for books. At the moment Iâ??m trying to really study when I get a spare minute!

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to your comments.

Richard

(richiebkerry@hotmail.com)

I am adistance learning student with a son aged 3.5 and a full-time job! My husband has been excellent at taking Ben away at weekends for 3-4 hours to let me study. I have been studying 1 unit at a time so it is taking a bit of time to complete but I like the pace - it suits me. I started at intermediate level as well with FTC. You should be ok.

I am doing home study course too, i only started 6 weeks ago, straight in at intermediate level. I work full time as a bookkeeper for a busy equestrian partnership firm, and have 3 kids. It is hard to find time to study, i often dont feel like opening the books at the end of a full day at work and after housework & cooking the dinner, but it will be worth it i am sure in the end.
I am working from Osbourne Books and have also purchases Frank Woods Business Accounting volume 1 and 2 version 9. All the books are really good. Have found doing the past papers the best help of all.
Good luck in your studies.
Shaz

    Hi

I have been studying with FTC for about a year and 3 months. Sitting my final simulation for Intermediate next week. Talk about intense i only go to college for 2 hours a week and then i feel as if im studying in all of my spare time. I mean a job and two kids (one whos only 3 weeks old) feels like i dont get any time to myself. But i suppose it will all be worth it in the end. Heres to hoping that i pass my ECR exam and upcomming simulation - good luck to all you out there in the same shoes as me.

Mike
