Going on to Technician
I am currently in the middle of the three exams mentioned, have completed the 2 costings exams and have personnel tax tomorrow. So far feel not too bad, but i believe a better opinion can be given when we have received results. So much also depends on the amount of work you do and quality of teaching. However i have found this week very stressfull, and happy that have had the whole week off for revision and preparation, imagine how stressful if having to work and have children! (which i do not.) Hope this helps. Good luck for rest of year.0 -

I'm currently studying Technician Level over a one year period. The work load is definately more demanding but if you have passed Intermediate then you should be able to achieve Technician Level.

I achieved Intermediate in one year without needing any resits, however, a few of my mates did not pass all intermediate and are having to resit these as well as studying for Technician. They are finding the workload to much and are concentrating so much on their resits that they are falling behind in Technician. My advice would be: if you have passed all of Intermediate go for it but if you need to complete a few things on intermediate to pass then leave it until that is complete. It would be no good doing Technician and not coping and failing than to just leave it a year and then pass the following year. Remember a career is a marathon not a sprint. In the space of your life it will seem like a blink of an eye.0 -

When it comes to the options, remember this:

Personal Tax & Business Tax are EXAMS
Auditing & Cash Management are SIMULATIONS

With simulations, you get extra time to complete your work - you can go home, remember what you couldn't do, revise it and then come back in and finish it off with extra time.

I personally took the cash management as a simulation last December and PTC/BTC/PEV in June!!!!! Hard going but passed them all. This year I have just done DFS and PCR and, oh boy, considering we were not taught about consolidation until one week before the exam (!!!!!!!!!!! - it's true!) I feel so stressed out just doing 2 this week it is unbelievable.0 -

What are you going to do next?

IF you decide to go on to ACCA you can give yourself a head start by doing business tax as it all comes up again in paper 2.3.

Annette0 -
