I have done the course now for nearly 3 years and never failed anything, but now it all seems to be going so slow and I am loosing interest. I need to carry on as I want to go onto CIMA so I need to be positive and work my butt of me thinks!!

Whatever you do, don't give up

I failed PEV last year, which i took again in December. This meant i had DFS in the morning and PEV in the afternoon.
I passed PEV this time round, but failed DFS. It doesn't bother me though as the it feels really good once you have passed them.

Just keep going, it will be worth it in the end.

Deblin
x

I FAILED THE MCV OLD STANDARDS WHICH CREATES A HOST OF PROBLEMS FOR ME SO SYMPATHY TO ALL THOSE WHO FAILED EXAMS, BUT DFON'T GIVE UP IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES AS LONG AS YOU GET THERE.

    newtoaccountancy

I failed the financial paper at intermediate stage and I honestly believe it did me some good. Its like a massive wake up call and it certainly made me work harder to make sure the same thing didn't happen again. The trick is to turn those feelings of wanting to give up into something positive. I've just passed PTC, which was my last AAT exam. For the first time ever, I've actually completed something and it feels great. You're so close - don't give up now. It will be worth it in the end.

Clare

YOUR RIGHT IT DOES MAKE YOU WORK HARDER NOT ONLY TO PROVE TO YOURSELF BUT TO OTHERS YOU CAN DO IT, AND I WILL PASS EVENTUALLY - HA HA.

I know what you mean about being gutted... I took the DFS and MCV old standards, and failed both - was sure i'd passed both too. They were the only papers that I had left to do. Both papers were at the old standards, so December 2004 was the last time I could take them. Looks like it's 3 years doen the drain for me. Oooh well looks like I have my life back.

Seems like a lot of people failed the old standards this time round! Well done those that passed.

you can do top up papers to comply with the new standards, please don't give up because all the hard work and stress would have been for nothing.

Just remember also that you do not need to sit all papers if you feel it would be too daunting on you. I am taking my units in my stride. Alot of the girls in my college course were the opposite however. They would come into class telling me that they had stayed up until midnight some nights allocating certain times to certain units. Four of the girls that sat three papers in December failed two of them. They are not thick students either. I simply think they over-worked themselves in the hope that they would get AAT finished quicker. They will finish on par with me now (supposing I pass my costing in the summer) so they crammed all that work in to get signed off quickly but it didn't work for them that way. They regret it now themselves.

Just think you have +/- 40 years of your working life yet to achieve your career goals. Whats is an extra six months of studying if it releives stress, pressure and disappointing exam results...?
