I would be grateful for any assistance/advice on completing the project based on the case study. I am struggling to understand exactly what is required. The case study asks for a project report covering 'The co-ordination of work activities within Castonbridge Hotels' accounting environment'. Do I choose one activity or evaluate all activities? Similarly 'Identification of opportunities to improve the effectiveness of Castonbridge Hotels accounting system - Do I identify and discuss one opportunity or look at them all?<BR><BR>Any feedback would be very greatly received.<BR><BR>Many thanks

Hi Hardy <BR>i hope my bit will help you out with your project.<BR>During my technician stage my project was to obbserve analyse and and then write a complete report statine SWOT of a paricular organisation.Saying all of that is to say this <BR>'The co-ordination of work activities within Castonbridge Hotels' accounting environment' <BR>This is how i would approach it<BR>1 Investigate the accounting environment<BR>2 See how well they co-ordinate (if invoices are checked with good berfore they reach the payables department , if there are more than one person certifying the use and collection of cash and that sort of thing.<BR>then when you do allof this ask your tutor to give you a hint on hwetheryou are onthe rite track<BR><BR>Make your observations,note them and then make your reccommendation<BR>marsha<BR>0 -
Help with Case Study
I was a little confused on this also. The way I read the case study I understood, along with the rest of the class, that you had to analyse the accounting function as a whole. However, we have been assured that you only need to focus on one area although if you check your pcs in the Student Record you will see that you need to be able to comment/illustrate how your chosen section integrates with the other accounting functions and external sources of information - regulating bodies, government bodies (Inland Revenue/Customs & Excise) as well as the usual customers, suppliers, etc. I think there are five clear sections you could choose from but most will rely on internal sources of information.<BR><BR>Good luck - it's hard to start but once you do it's not so bad. I was more interested in designing diagrams for illustration purposes in the appendices than anything else but at least it got me interested enough to make a start!0 -
