Having read the examiners comments on the December exams, with regard to them being the last time the old standards applied, does this mean that the June exams will take on a new format and include a lot more activity based costing, if so, does it mean that practising old exam papers will be a waste of time and will the AAT issue a statement saying what to expect in the June exams? As I am distance learning I don't get to hear these comments, so if any body has heard anything from the colleges they attend I would be grateful for any feed back available.

Thanks

Sarah.

If you've been looking at PEV and PCR then they are new standards papers. They have been running the old standards parallel to the new standards for people to be able to complete the level under the old standards if necessary.

Having said that, there isn't a great difference between the old and new standards as far those two papers are concerned so if you want more practice, try old standards papers as well.

Annette

    PEV/PCR June '05 exam format

    Hi Annette,

I know what you're saying, but the chief assesor's report states that for PEV "This examination covered both the old and new standards for this unit. The exam excluded tasks on accounting principles which were not explicitly covered in the old standards, for example, activity based costing. For all future exams, all knowledge and understanding will be examinable." So does this mean that the exams in June will be different from previous in layout and format? Or will they be basically the same with ABC added?

Sarah
