Hello
I am currently doing the Foundation level AAT by distance learning through the FTC
Just interested to no if anyone else is doing it , in the Hull area or if anyone has gone on to do the Intermediate level , and is it a big difference in levels , or does it just follow on so to speak
I am finding it ok but am just worried now that the Intermediate level will just get more intense and is it a good idea to be doing an accounts assistant job for example along side it , currently i am working in a sort of finance role but i dont feel i am doing enough accounts type of work to run alongside my aat
Also if anyone is doing it in this area , what sort of jobs are they doing alongside it
Thanks

Foundation - Intermediate
I am doing Home Study with Premier from Immingham!!

I have done foundation and passed and work in basic accounts role doing sales ledger on sage and payroll.

I am now doing Intermediate level and finding it easier than Foundation level.

I think is mainly because its not what I am doing at work. With foundation I found myself saying, well I do it different at work!! As Im not doing the intermeidate level at work, everything I learn is New and therefore I am learning correctly!!

I think once you have done foundation you will WANT to do intermediate as you will look back and think, foundation was so easy - althoough you might not think so right now.

Amanda0 -

Hi
I'm also doing my foundation AAT through FTC in Hull but I do it on an evening. I know its not exactly an answer to your question but I'm a bookkeeping assistant and find that I cover alot of what I'm doing at work in my course.0 -
Foundation - Intermediate
Hi there
I did Foundation last year and am currently doing intermediate (albeit at night school) and have never worked in accounts. Foundation may seem hard but believe me the central assessments are easier than the skills tests, also I suspect the isolation of distance learning must sometimes play a part. As for intermediate, yes I am finding it harder but it is much more interesting but I think it would be easier if I worked in an accounting environment just to reinforce what I have learned.
If you can afford it, do consider night school. It's good socially, plus you get a lot more support from your tutors and help from your fellow students -that's hard to put a price on.
Regards N0
