Hi

I have my Unit 1 Simulation on Monday, and already I feel like a nervous wreck!! I know the principles involved, but it's been a long time since I have been in an exam situation and I am having hot and cold sweats already just thinking about it, I dread to think what I'll be like when I sit the actual exam in June.

Any advice would be appreciated, and has anyone got any tips to entering data in a logical order, ie main ledger or subsidiary ledger first, write these up as I go along, or just follow each question as it comes?

Go on, help a thirty something pass her exams!!

Thanks in anticipat......ion!! (Sorry a Rocky Horror pun!)

Tracy

Unit 1 RIAR Simulation
Hi Tracey.

Relax- you'll be fine. Take your time to read through the paper, highlighting all the important points, dates etc. Read through the answer booklet to get a feel for what they want. Work through the questions in order, as you might need the answer from one question to answer a later question.

If you do get stuck, move on and come back to it. Drink water- dehydration affects concentration!

Scott.0 -

In my experience, read through the paper, read it again and carry out the tasks exactly as asked and in precisely the order instructed.
Remember don't use eradicator, sorry, Tippex on ledgers, and in fact it's advisable to work through the simulation in pencil first before you tackle the exercise in ink.
You'll find that the actual simulations are easier than those provided in the Osbourne text and so if you can do those, you'll be fine.
Most of all, DON'T PANIC.
Good Luck!!!!!0 -

Thanks Guys

You make a lot of sense, I'll take it all on board and I will try not to panic, it's mainly that I'm not used to taking exams, and I know I can do it, so I will be annoyed with myself if I freak out a bit and allow my mind to go blank, but hopefully that won't happen.

Cheers!0 -

Hi Nick

Sorry to hear that you have been made redundant, good luck getting another position (or do you have one already hence the move to Sheffield?).

Take care.

Tracy0 -

No Worries about the reduncy, worked in my favour
).

My wife is starting university to study dentistry in Sheffield hence the move there so the redundancy worked out quite nicely for me. I have a few appointments with agencies at the end of the month to try and find a job with a study package. Maybe even a day release one as I have struggled with distance learning, too many distractions and not enough discipline
