Don't know about ACCA, but for Cima you are exempt from the whole of the Certificate (used to be called Cima foundation) stage and so start on Managerial level (used to be called Cima Intermediate). There are 6 papers at Managerial, most people would do 2 every 6 months, though you can do more. Then 3 papers at Strategic level, which you have to take all of the first time, then a further case study Topcima which you can't take until you have passed everything else. So minimum really is 2.5 years if you pass everything first time and only take 2 papers at a time at Managerial.0
