I am interested in providing a basic services such as accounts prep, bookkeeping, VAT Returns & PAYE to clients but don't really know how to start. I am currently working in the account department in a local factory and studying for AAT Technician which I will hopefully pass this summer. Any advice would be great.<BR><BR>Del

    Hi<BR><BR>I am interested in setting up my own business too at some stage soon and would appreciate any advice. Would possibly consider working alongside a person too. Thanks.

    Hi,<BR>I have just started (Dec) doing bookeeping, VAT and PAYE for a catering firm. I was lucky in that I knew the person starting the Catering Co. and they knew that I had just passed AAT and asked would I be interested in doing his books.<BR>A butcher friend has asked if I could check over the `bookeeping` he has done before he gives them to his Accountant so that should be interesting. I am not sure what he means by bookeeping mind you but will soon find out.<BR>I am going to type some letters and enclose my C.V to some local accountancy co. to see if they sub contract any work out and also to post to small businesses like local florists ect. I don`t know how far I will get but it is worth a try.<BR><BR>Let me know how you get on,<BR>Regards,<BR>Sarah

    Good luck Sarah. I think I'll wait until I after the June exams and then like you start asking business people I know if they are looking for someone to do their bookkeeping, payroll and VAT. I'll keep you posted. Let us know how you get on.<BR><BR>Del<BR>
