I work for a small company and our accountant has informed us that we need to purchase the new version of sage payroll due to the new tax year. My employer is unwilling to pay for a new version when he only recently purchased the Payroll program after starting business in February. Can we continue using the version we have already set up or must we really buy the new version. Please help.

    Hi Stacey,<BR><BR>I woud call Sage or have a look at their website, I know that to keep the software accurate you must update it annually. I dont know how large the company is, but when I started my company I looked at various payroll methods and chose not to go with Sage because it does require to be updated instead I opted for an internet company called The Payroll Site www.thepayrollsite.co.uk it does everything you need, even electronic filing, is recommended and approved by the Inland Revenue and costs just £5 per month (you can pay annually, quarterly or monthly). I find it really easy to use and it updates itself (so no worrying that you have done the right thing in the new tax year) and no software is dowloaded, you just a have an account that you log into. The first month is free and you dont have to continue on it if you dont want to.<BR><BR>Hope this helps <BR><BR>Em

    If you have sage payroll then you should have the up-date cd from sage (which is free) and this is the updated program.<BR><BR>What version are you using?? (click help and about)<BR><BR>If its a new version in feb then i think its the update (yearend pack) you are missing from sage - give them a call.<BR><BR>Amanda

    Thanks for your help, much appreciated. i'll have a look on that website suggested. We are only a company of four employees. When we purchased sage instant payroll, version ten, we couldnt install as we didnt have our inland revenue number so our accountant has been processing our wages for us. We are in reciept of our inland revenue number now and are ready to install but were set back by our accountant insisting we must buy a new version that is released today.

    Im on version 10, no need to buy any new versions!!!!<BR><BR>Sage should send you the update via CD and its purely an update!!! Not a update with the version!!
