contract law

A contract is an agreement between two or more parties, enforceable by law. There are several elements to consider; there has to be an intention on both sides that an agreement should have the force of law, the capacity to enter a contract (minors cannot be party to certain transactions), a consideration รƒยข?? each party should give something of value (e.g. goods or services); an offer and acceptance of the terms. An agreement is not legally binding and is not enforceable by law.

This extract is taken from a question set by my tutor that I answered using the Foulks Lynch Unit 1 workbook (the red one!) Hope it helps,

Katherine
Hi

As far as i know all contracts need to be in writing, if it is an employment contract this would need to be issued by the employer in the first three months of the job - if anything was to go wrong and you did not have the contract the employer would not be liable.

Reena
