I am due to complete AAT Technician level this summer and want to study ACCA next. I want to complete it as quickly as possible and was thinking of doing it in three exam session, sitting 4 exams in Dec , 4 in June 2006 and the 3 remaining core exams in Dec 2006. Am I being realistic?

ACCA quickly
Unless you are prepared to do full time study, you may find it difficult, ACCA is another step up from AAT and handling 4 exams together is going to be tough but not impossible.

Let me know what you decide

Annette0 -
ACCA quickly
I can understand you wanting to get qualified as quickly as possible as the same applied to me (I did AAT and ACCA - the same route you've taken).

You will put yourself under an enormous amount of pressure by trying to do four exams at a time (I did it once and it was torture). I agree with Annette that, whilst it is not impossible, you have got to think about it from a practical perspective. If you work full time you simply will not be able to cope with the demands ACCA place to pass their exams and working as well. I am not saying don't do four exams at a time, it is entirely what you feel comfortable with, but you will find it a huge strain.

My advice would be to look at the past papers at www.acca.co.uk for each paper in the syllabus and also download the requirements for each paper (i.e what the syllabus expects you to know).

Good luck anyway and keep us posted.0 -
ACCA quickly
Hi

please remember that with ACCA you do need 3 years supervised work experience too. With my experience, I recommend that you attempt 2 exams to begin with and see how you get on. I was put forward for ACCA a few years back after having only been in practice for 5 months and felt completely lost and everything went straight over my head! To me, it is best to take things at a much slower pace and pass first time, then to fail and have to wait 6 months to retake. I have been there! Good luck, and think clearly about what steps to take next.
0
