    RESCHEDULING OF PURCHASES

    Did you mean limiting factor when you want to reschedule the purchase & production of some periods in accordance to meet the sales forecast of the following periods and minimise the other overheads costs?!<BR><BR>If yes, first you should identify the surplus or (shortage) by deduct the maximum material quantity available in any period from required material quantity to meet the forecasted sales â??Budgeted purchasesâ??, and then adjust the shortage with the surplus from the nearest prior period i.e. if the shortage in period 3 is â??5000 kgâ?? and you have surplus in period 1 â??9000 kgâ?? and period 2 â??3000 kgâ?? you should start with the surplus in period 2 & then from period 1 (to minimize the OH costs). The last step is showing the revised purchase budget or the rescheduled purchase budget by adding the additional material could be purchased from the periods with surplus and deducting the shortage materials covered from the periods with shortage.<BR><BR>hope this help<BR>
