Hello folks,<BR><BR>I am currently working my way through units 8 & 9 using the BPP Home Study texts and I am a bit confused.<BR><BR>Will we have to draw a graph in the exam to demonstrate Fixed Overhead Variances in Absorption costing? My text book is going to detail about it the 'graphical approach.'<BR><BR>Has anyone experienced this in an exam?<BR><BR>Any comments would much appreciated,<BR><BR>Angelic

Hi Angelic<BR><BR>I've not seen this in the recent past papers but my tutor did go through an example with us in class.<BR>Having done home study using BPP and also going to college I have learnt that the book can cover a few topics in a lot of detail when only basic knowledge is required<BR>But I think you should be aware of this to be on the safe side.<BR>Hope this helps<BR><BR>Sharon0 -

I do not expect graphs to be used to test your understanding in the exam<BR>If they help you to understand variance analysis they are fine, but if they are difficult to understand I recommend you look at other aspects rather than spend a lot of time on this topic.<BR><BR>Sandy0 -

I tried to understand these graphs but found them so complicated, also I asked my tutor and he told me that they will not appear in the exam and the most important thing is to understand and have the ability to calculate the Favourable/Adverse variances<BR><BR>Hope this help0 -
