PEV-Section 1
You know before calculating 8 variances we have some more calculations to do and from there last 2 or 3 questions are always related to â??fixed overheadâ?? thatâ??s where I usually go wrong and therefore I make mistakes calculating some of the variances. Other then that I know my formulas very well but I must say I do struggle to workout fixed overhead recovery rate far last 3 variances.
Eg Efficiency variance: ( ACT hr worked â?? STD hr for act production)x FORR
Please let me know is there is any easy way of remembering how to calculate these. Iâ??ve been practicing past papers but I want to prevent that problem before exam. Please help.
Last 3 variances:

Volume: ( Bud hr - Std hr for act production)xFORR
Capacity Bud hr - Act hr worked)x FORR
EfficiencyAct hr worked - Std hr foe act production)xFORR

These are the formula i've been using to do the calculations
Thanks0 -
