Hi

I did home study for Intermediate and Technician. Although it worked out ok for me, you need to be quite organised. Looking back I sort of wished i'd gone to college to do it but didnt really want 2 nights a week at college. It could have been 1 night a week but didnt want to take 2 years to do it.

Neil

I'm doing Technician Level with Premier Training. I find it works fine for me cos I can choose when and what I want to study and can do as much or as little as I choose. I work full time so if I've had a busy day at work I can do less that night and do more, say, at the weekend.

You have to be disciplined but I find it works very well for me. If you're used to figuring things out for yourself then its a better option.

Having said that, I went straight to Technician Level through virtue of having a degree so have never studied AAT at college......

Premier Training use Osbourne Books which are superbly laid out and are very easy to follow.............

    Hi
I am taking my PCR and PEV technician level exams in June. So far I have managed to pass all my Intermediate units through distance learning. I used the BPP texts and tried to study at least 10-15 hours in every week.
I hope the Technician level can be completed by home study.
Thanks

Im at inter level with Premier trainging, which are really great home study providers.

I think with home study - you get what you put in!! If you dont put in the work you are not going to pass.
The difference is with a taught class you still may go home none the wiser and have to re-read everything again and then if you still havent sussed it by the next lesson you start to feel really lost. With home study - you dont move on to you have sussed it! If you dont understand you keep going to you do - there is no class to catch up with and no feeling everyone else knows more than you!
You must read the books and do the assignments otherwise you are wasting your time!

I have passed foundation through home study and doing FRA in June!

Amanda

    Hi

I did my intermediate with distance learning and managed quite well. I started the technician in September 2004 and with working and 3 children it will take me 2 years to complete. It is hard and I think you need far more support and be more disciplined on Technician than intermediate.

You have to want to do it.

Good luck
