Personal & Business Tax together???

I am studing Technician by home study, I have passed DFS and am taking the two costing exams next week. <BR><BR>Hopefully I will pass these and do my last two exams personal & Business Tax in December, however someone recently told me it would be to difficult to do the two taxes together as it would get very confusing.<BR><BR>I would appreciate any comments (my tutor is not very helpful) as I am now considering taking one exam at a time. The problem with this is that it will take 6 months longer to finish my studies.<BR><BR>Thanks

hi, i took personal last dec and now doing business<BR><BR>i guess the reason someone said it gets confusing, is because there are different rules for such as matching shares for both personal and company, and you could easily mix up the two which would throw your answers out.<BR>however i know of people who have took both together from what people have said on the forums on here so hopefully they will comment on it for you.<BR>as long as you know yourself that you can learn seperate sets of rules for the same kind of thing then go for it!<BR>0 -

<BR>I did them both together in Dec and it was fine - there are overlaps though.<BR><BR>Some, like the share thing, you have to learn two sets of rules<BR><BR>But then, the business tax also includes sole traders which is in personal tax as well, so that's one bit of revision for two exams!0 -

I did the two together and think it's far easier to do it that way, there are only a few differences and they really didn't cause any of our classes any problems.<BR><BR>Go for it!!0 -
