Just come back to work from doing my Unit 3 sim. I knew it was a really bad idea to do the week before exam.
I'm sure it will be a big fail as my bank reconciliation to cash book didn't balance, my purchase ledger control account rec didn't balance (by loads), my TB didn't balance, I fouled up the journals big time.
Got into a real panic when the first two things happened and just lost it - almost wanted to just walk out and not try to complete.
Now I feel in a real state about exam and I had almost become too serenely calm about it all!
Was told by invigilator not to panic as it is whether you have followed the correct priniciples as much as correct answers and so may scrap thorugh. To make matters worse though she told me I can only retake once!
Anyone got any words of comfort? I have hated every simluation although I've passed one and two!

HI DON'T PANIC ABOUT THE EXAM AS THE PRACTICE ONES WE HAVE BEEN DOING OVER THE PAST TWO WEEKS ARE SO MUCH EASIER THAN THEY SIMULATIONS. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD TO WRITE OUR T ACCOUNTS DOWN TO WORK THINGS OUT. DON'T PANIC ALL WILL BE FINE0 -

Thanks for the kind words Jools.
I am finding it hard as I chose to do distance learning and really struggle because I don't work in an accounting job and have no-one to ask. the tutor assigned to me is not very 'dynamic' and really hard to get hold of if you do think it is worth it.
I'm just a bit panicky as having been told I can only retake once is a bit daunting plus I thought you could just be asked questions or set some more tasks to do to prove competence - didn't think you had to retake whole 3 hour simulation. My boss is going to get really fed up of me disappearing for 3 hours at a time! I'm trying to just put it to the back of my mind until I hear my results but it is proving really hard - I think I may be in for some sleepless night!
Anyway - thanks for the 'exams aren't as hard' advice - I'll try to keep that in mind.0 -

I did home study foundation level and at first I felt alone and embrassed to ask questions.

Thats why I had the Idea to set up the MSN Foundation group. It started off just me asking for online study buddies to being a group of 350+ members now.

There was always someone on the group able to answer my questions - which where quicker and easier than tutor contact - although I must admit my tutor is great when I do contact him.

I use to read messages on here and found that the same questions came up - so I put documents onto the site to cover some of the questions asked.

When it came to the exam - everyone was behind me - I did my exam (PLB) in 50 mins and then came out and paniced that I may have been to quick - but i put it all down to nerves!!
When the exam results came out - I felt the whole world was waiting for my results as the e-mail never came through and I was complaining - lol - But then when the results finally came - Im glad id passed as I would have hated to let the world down, lol

So what im saying is - your not alone, your on home study - take your time - ensure you understand before doing the Sims - your tutor should not be asking you to do them until you are ready. If you do fail some parts of the Sim - this can be covered with questions - it doesnt mean you have to re-take the whole sim again.

Come and join us in MSN Foundation.

http://groups.msn.com/aatfoundation

Amanda0 -

Please read my comment on 'Do I have a chance?' as i feel that anyone who had little confidence in the exam, would fall to pieces trying to do the simulation. It is TERRIBLE that AAT put us through that before the exam. It isn't even anything LIKE the exam!!!
0
