I have worked it out at £1.50/1.25 hours = £1.20 per hour. This sounds right, but could anyone else help too as I am a little confused myself?0 -

Calculation is to divide the contribution per unit by the amount oflimiting factor used in making one unit. In your example £1.50 divided by 1 hour 15 mins = £1.20 contribution per hour.

Graham Blott0 -

Wow that's a bid of an odd one but here goes

Unit cost £1.50 = 1 hour 15 minutes
or unit cost £1.50 = 75 minutes
so divide £1.50 by 75 = .02p per minute
x .02p by 60 minutes = £1.20
by my reckoning thats a contribution of £1.20 per hour
hope thats right and helps, could well be another way of working it out!
Good luck with the exam I'm dreading it
cheers
Anne0 -

Thats what i get too -i try to remember it as the "per" being a dividing sign : contribution/hours.
So if it takes 1.25 hours to make a conribution of £ 1.50, one hour will make a contribution of £ 1.20.
Hope this makes sense.
All the best for later everyone
Dee
0 -
