<BR>So, what's the concensus on the PEV paper? Very different structure to the past papers I've been studying. I thought the last question (2.2?) was rather poorly worded, and it was difficult to determine exactly what was required. The numerical stuff was fine though.<BR><BR>I normally knock out a PEV paper in about an hour, maybe an hour and a quarter, but that was two and a quarter hours for me, so I imagine many will struggle for time.<BR><BR>Ho hum - one down, two to go!<BR>

    I really feel for you truffle being your third time. But it looks like everyone feels the same!<BR><BR>Am I wrong is saying that the pass rate is dependant on how everyone else has done?

    well i have to agree with everyone else that was crap! i though i had it all sorted in my head then they go and word the questions wayyyy different to all the past papers. I dont have much hope of passing but cant think about that too much now as i have anothe 4 to go. These exams are going to kill me off i think!!!     Well that was different!

    Its true they mark the exams based on everyone else. The AAT get together after all the papers have been marked and set a standard among the papers. If you above the standard you pass. My course director told me that, thats why they take so long.<BR>I must say that exam was awful!!

    Well that was different!

    There must be a pass rate for both sections because you have to pass both sections to pass the entire exam, for example if yopu get 100% (unlikely I know) on the first section but only 50% on the second section they won't pass you because a 75% average is not how things work, got to be competant in both sections.

    DeDe<BR><BR>We can cry together in August if we dont pass!! Everyone I spoke to after the exam at my college thought it was awfull too, but we all agreed we didnt feel any worse than the costing exam last year at intermediate - thats gotta be worth something n all, cause int costing was a bitch too!

    72% as a pass rate seems very high. I think the pass rate applies to each section, otherwise I would have been concentrating on variances, not ratios, seeing as though we seem to do ratios on every paper these days!!

    Last year they released the exam pass rates for ECR and FRA because of the problems people encounted. Don't panic but the pass mark for ECR was 72% and FRA was 68%. FRA had been reduced because the chief examiner felt it had been too long, otherwise that would have been 72% also. <BR><BR>Oh please let the pass mark be lower.

    Thats the impression I've had from people, they take an average of how well everyone's done. If it goes on how well I've done everyone will have passed!!!

    i also thought it was hard, to much information required in such little time. <BR>I was told by my tutor that backward variances could not be examined as they were not in the syllabus, even though she has seen all the posting on the forum she assured me under no circumstances could they be tested. Not sure where i stand now with this one.<BR>Can i make a complaint to the aat?<BR>feeling really cheated at the mo

    Well that was different!

    I thought it was harder than any of the past papers I had done, but the pass rate isn't sky high so I think I probably passed. You have to remember on the worded questions, there isn't always a right and wrong answer, you just have to be able to back up your opinion.

    I found the whole thing far too wordy, I'd prepared myself for the usual calculations but there's only so much you can do to prepare for the memos/reports. Starting to wish I hadn't chosen to do Technician in 1 year!

    This is the 3rd time I have sat this exam and all I can say is that it was the hardest.<BR><BR>Weather it's because it's been a year since attending college lessons and new stuffs been cover or it was just blooming hard.<BR><BR>From what I've read so far I think it could well have been the latter!!!<BR><BR>Oh well what will be will be.

    Oh god, I thought it was horrible - the whole thing. I was unsure about all of my answers, it seemed like you had to assume a lot. Didn't like it at all.

    <BR>Also, I thought _three_ answers to be formed as memos, plus one to be formed as a formal report, was silly. Two of the memos could have been simple one line answer type questions. I thought I was supposed to be demonstrating knowledge of the theory, not proving how much I can write!

    It took me much longer than usual as well. <BR><BR>2.2 was really strange, took me a while to figure out what they wanted really and am still not sure if I understood it! Oh well only 2 months to wait!<BR><BR>

    Its the same for me. It was the most complicated task, sometimes Im wondering do they want us to pass or they want to screw us?!
