To do this section we were recomended to take 100 mins, normally I can do the whole of section 1 in plenty of time but in today's paper I spend over 100 mins leaving me really short of time on section 2, thus my work was very rushed memo's were not consice or well written, section 2.2 I simply ran out of time not being able to back up my opinion of whether to sub-contract or not??

I thought the whole paper was extremly ambigous, really felt unsure about alot of my answers only went with the answers I got as they looked relative.

Went into the exam having an edge of confidence as I know the subject can do the calculations understand the ratios etc but I've come away so deflated I could just cry.

Now PCR to sit, I just don't have the confidence I did before PEV this morning!

Section 1 PEV
I know how you feel, this is the first exam that we have sat and virtually the whole class was still sat there at 12.45pm still writing!

We discussed the paper afterwards and most people said that Section 1 had taken them a lot longer than the 100 minutes allocated. I can usually fly through this section and was hoping this would be the case so I could concentrate on my weaker points.

I also thought it was unfair to have 3 memos and one report. There seemed to be SO much writing to do. One minor plus was that you could check if you had the budgeted fixed overheads correct as they gave you the breakdown of them later in the paper so you only had to add them up to check if you had your answer right on Task 1.1 (handy, eh?)

Like you, though, I felt as though this was my strongest subject so am not looking forward to DFS and PCR but don't cry as you only have to show competence in the subject not pass with 100%

One down and two to go!!! Section 1 PEV
Like alot of people I'm feeling really deflated. I too didn't have time to finish the exam and ended up last minute throwing something together. Section 1 took me nearlly 2 hours.

Too much writing AAT. Please consider this when weighting the paper please. If DFS is anything like PEV today I don't think I'll even bother going to PCR on Thursday.

Hit rock bottom. Like others I thought this was my strongest subject but obviously not.0 -
Section 1 PEV
Hi, Just to let you know we all came out feeling there was not enough time. Like you felt fairly confident going in especially for Section 1 and then found I spent too long on it. Not much time left for Section 2.2 and it totally threw me - I didn't know where to start.Main one was trying to work out where the £12 came from (apparently it came from section 1) I'm sure practice papers haven't involved using the info from section 1 carried forward to section2. However in a don't know whether it's right or wrong came up with a Yes. Half our class said yes and the other NO... if accross the board is a mixed answer then the AAT will know it wasn't worded right. I also wrote at the end of the paper that I had ran out of time and spent the last 10 min trying to answer the memos. Felt really deflated after but hey ho nothing I can do now.... so I'm now going to put my DFS cap on and change my brain pattern!
Good luck to everyone for Wednesday morning.0
