Task 2.2 UNFAIR!

The general consensus here is that Task 2.2 was ambiguous and difficult. <BR><BR>It was a real nasty one to throw in at the end. It seems that everyone got a different answer and found it difficult and confusing. I sincerely hope that the examiners take this into account when assessing the pass mark or else they will have a very high fail rate.<BR><BR>This question was too hard for AAT Technician level. I would imagine it to be more like the type of question you would see in a CIMA or ACCA than AAT.<BR><BR>I found the rest of the paper challenging in parts but still achievable. Ironically isn't this how standards are supposed to be set in Costing? Unattainable standards are demoralising and so too was this question. I am sure that this is not the goal of the AAT.<BR><BR>I worked really really hard for this paper and feel that I was probably competant enough with the rest of the paper but this last question will probably fail me. I feel all the hard work I put in for studying this paper was a waste of time because of this question. Talk about demoralised!<BR><BR>Does anyone know how much this last question counts? <BR><BR>

    I think the point of these sort of questions is that no one answer is right. You need to look at the data, analyse it and make recommendations with workings to back up your suggestions. Our tutor told us of two students last year (I think) who put two completely opposite theories but they had illustrated their answer well and could show valid points for the recommendations. They both passed. I knew all of this yet I failed to go into great detail as to the reasons for my recommendations.<BR>

    I HAVE TO AGREE, I FOUND THE LAST PAPER A BIT MISLEADING ASTHOUGH THE AAT DONT WANT ANYBODY TO PASS. ONCE OUT OF THE EXAM, AND DISCUSSING THE MATTER WITH FELLOW STUDENTS, THEY TO AGREED THAT THE PAPER WAS NOT AT ALL LIKE ANY OTHER SEEN BEFORE.<BR><BR>I SUPPOSE THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG ANSWER BUT STILL TALK ABOUT PUTTING US OFF!!!

    Thanks Birdseyeview, that's reassuring to be reminded of that! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"><BR><BR>However I do still feel that the question was beyond what we have been expected to do during this year as well as never having something like this come up before. I wanted the examiners to hear my thoughts on the subject in addition to everyone else's.<BR><BR>I'll keep my fingers crossed that I passed, and everyone else as well.<BR><BR>Hope DFS and PCR are better!<BR><BR>

    Task 2.2 UNFAIR!

    I just wante to say I feel exactly the same. I felt I was competant on all of the paper and was happy with my answers until I came to task 2.2. My theory is everyone in the country had the same problem, but surely they cannot fail the whole paper on 1 task?<BR><BR>I'm in bits!!!
