Hi,

I've just sat my Intermediate and feel pretty confident that I did okay - except for the last question on payback etc.

Does anyone have a clue how they mark these papers - i.e if you fail one question do you fail everything?

Ali
i think from what everyone else is saying, even if you get answer wrong, you get marks for workings etc. what did you get on limiting factor?

I didn't fully complete the question on limiting factors and my report wasn't very good as i run out of time. Not sure if i've done enough to pass!

Kath

Crikey, how many zero's were there in that exam!!? A lot of my College group struggled with various parts, I'm kind of hoping the examiner will be quite lenient as it was quite a difficult paper for a lot of people by the sounds of it. I struggled mostly with the written questions to be honest, I didn't even know what it meant to 'under recover'! Did they mean the same as under absorption or is it something completely different?

I know I messed up on the DCF and payback question, I knew what formula to use (I scribbled it down), but I then I picked up the wrong figures, I also got a negative value for the NPV (me weakest subject) - most of my friends got a positive - so that will be wrong as well. Its a damn shame because apart from that, I found the rest of the paper okay, everything seemed to slot into place, I think I answered them all well. It will all come down to how they mark the paper.

Not alone mate - I stuffed up on the NPV one. Managed to get all the figures right (116,000 ish) then without even thinking classed it as a pos.

Even went on to suggest in my memo that I would accept on account of pos NPV.

Fingers crossed the examiner says "you've been a bit careless there," and not dock too many points.

Our tutor tells us that in order to pass you need to get at least 60% in both sections of the paper

Andy

I'm gald I'm not the only one that got the right answers as a negative figure but in the memo put it as a possitive figure and accepted the capital investment on this basis!

Did anyone else feel that the wording they used was nothing like previous papers - I didn't understand what they meant most of the time. And there was me who thought I was doing accountancy and not english!!
