Could someone please help me with the following. The more i think about it i think i may have made a mistake in the table. How many items did we have to apportion and using what basis. I think i answered as follows:<BR><BR>Depreciation : Apportion Net Book Value of Assets<BR>Rent : Apportion Floor Space<BR>Indirect Staff Costs : Allocated<BR>Direct Assembly Costs: Allocated<BR><BR>Was there something else? I can't remember. I have a feeling i may have used the number of employees to apportion something but not sure what?<BR><BR>Can anyone help?

    <BR>i did exactly as u did, and never used the no. of employees. <BR><BR>However, some people say that they used it for the direct assembly apportionment with subtracting the number of Assembly Department employees. And i really doubt!!!<BR><BR>good luck<BR><BR>

    Hi<BR><BR>I agree with you Kath1. I didn't dee the point of using no of employees. The cost to assembly was a direct cost so it was an allocated cost .<BR><BR>Probably just in the exam to throw you out

    Was there another overhead in the table that i have missed - or were there only four. I have this really bad feeling that i missed something out.

    I think my answer for the first column on the table was 102,500. Did anyone else get the same?

    There were only 4 production departments. I can't remember what I put. I seem to remember the 2nd colum being a lot lower and the packing department cost were a lot higher.

    How many costs did we have to allocate or apportion. Was it just 4 - Depreciation, rent, Indirect staff costs and direct assembly costs. I thought there was one more - not sure.

    There was the depreciation, rent cost, indirect wages and the assembly cost, altogether was about £313,500

    exam paper won't be published until after the results. Then it should be on this website for practise work for Dec 05 exams.

    i also did the same - i never used the no. of employees. its nice to hear that someone else did the same !!!
