Budgetry control variances

Iv just been reading through some other posts about what might be on the PCR exam, are budgetry control variances just comparing budget figures to actual figures?<BR>e.g budget materials less actual materials???

    as far as i think it is basically coming up with flexible budgeting based on actual volume of production and then comparing the differences in the form of variances. hope this makes sense!
