No, they don't.

The AAT will have a pass rate in mind but will be flexible depending on how the students do in general. If someone told you a pass rate you'd then start worrying whether you'd reached that mark or not.

Put the exams behind you and relax for the summer.

Scott.

    Hello,
My tutor said that no matter how hard (or how easy!!!) the paper was, the aat mark all the papers to get a general idea of the passing mark first before deciding the pass limit. They only allow the top 80%-85% of students to pass. Am a bit worried because everyone has said it was straightforward, therefore putting more pressure on the fact that I'm worried about a couple of the short answer questions that i think i have wrong!!!!

BIG HELLO TO EVERYONE AT BARNFIELD COLLEGE (DAY STUDENTS) I KNOW YOUR ALL READING THESE COMMENTS!!!!!!

    Hi

Scotty's right. Some exam boards have in the past had a policy of only passing the top percentage of students achieved a good standard.

The AAT do listen to feedback on the papers and review performance, but only to get a bigger picture of what is considered a competent demonstration of the standards. So if everyone found a paper really easy, the AAT would only pass those who actually showed they could perform the skills required by the syllabus/standards. Conversely, if everyone thought the paper was really hard, the AAT would still only pass those who had shown that they could cover the standards adequately - not just arbitrarily drop the pass mark!

Neil
