i m confused if the quality control cost for 400000 units was 480000 then how come it will be same amount for 380000 units too??!!!
what i did was to find out how much amount it is for every 100000 units which is what they mentioned. hence if 300000 units gives £360000 then 100000units will?? 360000/300000 * 100000 the ans was £120000 for every 100000 units. so for 380000 units i got 456000. if u apply £120000 to the budget statement of 400000 units u ll get £480000.
any suggestions??

the 120000 was a FIXED cost per 100,000 units therefor everytime the units exceed another 100,000 say 20,000 more it goes up by another full £120,000

It said in the question it was for any part of 100,000. So 380k costs the same as 400k production.

referring to the person who used 380000 units, thats what i originally did but then i changed my calculation when i read that MotorMakers or whoever the company was called had made 420000 units so I changed it, that also meant I had a reason for the variance being favourable in the memo on Task 2.2
