I've just spoken to the head of the AAT course at my college who has confirmed the following

Basically the AAT collects all the national results and finds a mean average.
They work out the number of passes they require and set the pass rate from that.

Many of the colleges in London have a high international student base.
For Monday's PEV exams, the report and all the memos were unfair for all the international students with English not being their first language.

Also a lot of people, (almost everyone here!) found Task 2.2 for PEV ambiguous.
Imagine how that must have been if English is not your first language!

I told her what I did for Task 2.2 (which I felt like I'd fluffed completely) and she said that it sounds like it was enough to be competent. She also confirmed that you can leave a whole Task out for a Section and still pass as long as the other tasks in that Section are competent.

So fret ye not if you've
made 1 or 2 calculation errors
or
messed up a whole Task but were competent for other tasks within that section
you've probably passed

keep smiling and celebrate the return to normal life! I am.

Hooray!

May be English is not my first language but I did everything right (Except task 2.2) which was as everybody said ambiguous.

Really, really hope this is true but it is completely contrary to what our tutor told us. Her final words at about 9.25 were "Remember, whatever happens you must attempt all questions". She has told us time and time again that you cannot be deemed competent if you have missed a task out that will demonstrate your competence in that particular area. The conditions at our college were very poor on Monday and most people did not stay until the bitter end. If I'd known you could leave out a whole task and still possibly pass I would have left a whole lot sooner. As it was I wrote the bare minimum which was not in the format which I knew would be expected, simply so I could leave the room as soon as possible.
