Hi,

Not sure what you mean by the "acting like the smart guy" comment, nor am I sure whether I should reply, since I am a tutor!

However, your advice about the exams is quite correct. As tutors we don't have a hotline to the examiners, so we cannot say with certainty what will and won't come up. All we can do is use our knowledge and experience to help guide you through as best we can.

As students you need to help yourselves too. Make use of your textbooks - in a few hours at college you can't always cover everything. Look at all the resources available on this website, including the forums. Also, make the best use of your tutor - try to read ahead a little, so that you can get the most out of each lesson, and if you don't understand, ask!

Finally, use the past papers as a guide, but not as a checklist for the exams - the AAT will NOT simply duplicate past papers, they are looking to test your understanding.

Andrew Harrington.0 -

I agree with Andrew, I'm in technician level and our tutors told us that everything is important but gave us some suggestion to concentrate in some parts which they think that are important but they confirmed that there is no guarantee that they will come in the exam.

I appreciate my tutors efforts and thanks them for the hard working.0 -

i found it really helpful to read the chief examiners findings from the previous years, i also agree that tutors cannot predict what will occur in the exams but really and truthfully it is up to everyone to make sure they listen throughout the year and do their homework. if you dont understand then ask .... its too late by exam time.

on another note .... on what date are the results sent out ? somebody said August another said in four to five weeks time.

the person who said they had the best tutors were wrong..... two of the best ones are in Chelmsford College, namely Tony Adams and Andrew Harrington (the latter writing for some very prestigous magazines) without their expert tuition during the year i wouldnt have managed to get to the exams.

thanks guys

(sarah kilby)0
