Can anyone tell me what I need to do for the health & safety? I've been told from the beginning of Foundation that I shouldn't worry about it (just do it later, they said). Well this is the end of Technician, so I suppose this is "later."<BR><BR>I hope it doesn't involve much work because I've pushed myself to keep going & I'm in that weird relaxed/head spinning mode at the moment.<BR><BR>Cheers<BR><BR>

    As far as I remember, you just need to produce some notes on health & safety.<BR>If you work for an organisation that produces it's own health & safety procedures, then you can use these and highlight the points that are needed.<BR>I think it is a hand-out which specifies what needs highlighting, eg fire alarms/drills, what to do in an emergency etc. <BR>I think there were some questions that you just needed to answer on the form also.<BR>Nothing to it really.<BR><BR><BR>Thanks<BR>

    Hi.<BR><BR>You need to do a survey of your workplace, then write a report which includes recommendations, and have it signed off by your supervisor.<BR><BR>It doesn't have to be too involved - if your survey shows that you have desk corners exposed - recommend that you cover them with padding.<BR><BR>Scott. <BR><BR>P.S.     Hi, I did mine at foundation level, got credited for it and then when they changed the standards was told the credit was not valid and have to do extra work including questions.<BR>I did a basic report on my workplace highlighting problem areas and suggesting changes.     Hi<BR><BR>Just completed this for Foundation. Took some photos of areas at work that needed improving upon, and then typed up the recommendations to correct the hazards. I attended a local H&S course and got a certificate in Foundation Level H&S so cross referenced this to my portfolio (I put in the whole booklet they provided us with, and divided it up page by page into plastic wallets so it bulked the portfolio out!). Also put in details of emergency evacuation procedures, a leaflet explaining the different types of fire extinguishers I would use for various fires, and I put in a copy of my companies accident report forms, and downloaded a riddor report form from the internet.<BR><BR>Our college also gave us pictures where we had to identify hazards, and then list ones we could fix ourselves and ones which would require professional assistance. We also watched a dodgy 1970's film showing the hazards of wearing flared trousers!!! - amongst other things (don't suppose that will be much use to you though, although I found their "modern" office very entertaining to watch!)<BR><BR>Hope this is of some help.<BR><BR>Tracy<BR>

    Hi all <BR>Thanks for all the help. I laughed at the comment on the flared trousers Tracy.<BR>I remember those dodgy films from school (geography always seemed the worst - always watched them in a room that was too hot and listened to stuff about Sheffields steel industry, with a soundtrack that kept slowing down & speeding up. Happy days (not).<BR>I'm going to get this H&S done now - I've just finished my project so the end is in sight!<BR>Thanks again for all the help<BR>Glenn x
