Hi all. My college have given me a health and safety project to do.

This question is in it:

You share an office with Diana. She mentions that she has got a bad stomach-ache, but ignores your suggestion that she goes home. Throughout the afternoon she looks paler and paler, but says that she is fine, although you can tell that she is not telling the truth. By 3.30 she is almost crying out with pain, but begs you not to tell anyone. What would you do?

Is the correct answer that you have a responsibility to your fellow employees under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and should therefore inform your supervisor?

I've got loads of this stuff to do before tomorrow night! I thought I'd cracked it when I finished the project. Well fed up & want to RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks
Glenn

Yes, that sounds about right - we had something similar and had to mention that under no circumstances should we offer any medication and if the ailment was sufficient to prevent the employee continuing work we were to advise that medical attention is sought from General Practitioner (or minor casualty if appropriate).
