If it's Castonbridge Hotels then I've done it.

I followed the example in my FTC book, there is a lot to take in, but if you adapt an example then It's a lot easier.

Try not to look at the big picture here - it's not very often people say that. Our tutor failed to inform us that you only need to work on one section of the accounts and we all just pushed this to the back of the list because of the sheer volume of work we thought was involved. You need to read all of it a couple of times to familiarise yourself with the scenario and characters but then select one function and focus on this. There is something in the criteria which means you need to show how this function fits in with the rest of the functions but don't try to analyse every part of the system. A few in our class chose payroll but we all managed to produce very different projects. Sales and purchasing were also chosen as separate projects. Our tutor is very IT orientated and felt that the MIS would be an exellent topic. It all seems a long time ago now - handed this in middle March but feel free to contact me should you require any help.

I also built my project around Castonbridge Hotels as I don't work in an accounts enviornment.
My project was based on the "sales" aspect - booking of rooms, allowing discount for regular bookings ie corporate bookings and suggested a centralised computer system.
Also looked at the lack of training, motivation, managment of staff and general way in which the company pulled together as a team (or lack of). In this way i covered all the requirements of the unit.
Believe it, or not, once you get going 3-4,000 words is not too difficult!!
Hope this helps!!

I had to cut bits of my project out as the original draft was 6000 words! It was difficult to formulate the ideas and get started, but once I did I wrote the whole thing in 4 days.

    Hi there.

Everything has to be referenced to the pc's and range statements, and all pc's and range statements have to be met. Therefore when you are planning your project have your Unit 10 record sheets with you - they act as an excellent guide to what you need to include.

There are also handy notes on here under 'Assessments', 'Exam Support', and also under 'Resource Centre'.

It really isn't as bad as you think!

Scott.
