Hi guys

Does anyone know at what point we are considered to be a part qualified accountant. Is it at the end of Technician or is it after intermediate of ACCA, CIMA etc.

Your thoughts would be very much appreciated. I'm asking the question because I am constantly seeing adverts for part qualified accountants. Just like to know where I'm at.

Thanks everyone in advance.

You are generally considered a "Part Qualified" accountants once you have completed Stage 1 & 2 of the ACCA syllabus. Not sure 'bout ICAEW or CIMA.....

Regards0 -

The impression I was under was that you are equivalent to a part-qualified accountant when you are AAT qualified.

As you don't have to do part 1 of ACCA once you are AAT qualified anyway.

Cheers
Sharon
0 -

Hi

Doesn't seem to be a definitive answer to this, and may depend on the potential employer. I'm considered part qualified having done AAT/exempt 1st stage CIMA. As for having passed parts 1 and 2 of ACCA or CIMA, ive seen this refered to as 'finalist' as in taking the final exams.0 -

I've worked for firms of chartered accountants and the trainee's there were considered part qualified when the had finished the Advanced Stage of the ACA (ICAEW) before going onto the Professional stage of the qualification. Can't tell you about the others though.0 -

I am going on to do CIMA (hopefully if I pass the last 2 June exams) and I was told that once I registered with CIMA on Managergial level (ie. after completition of technician AAT) that this is considered as part Qualified.

Hope this helps!0
