I'm looking to go on to CIMA in September 05 depending on my results. I feel fairly confident-ish with Finance and Tax but PEV went terrible for me. I was woundering if anyone knew whether I could still carry onto CIMA in September and re-sit PEV in December if I do fail.

Any advise would be helpful.

    Hi!

I am also hoping to go onto CIMA, but you can't atart at managerial level or get your exemptions if you don't pass all the AAT papers.

If you were thinking of going in at the bottom level you can, but after all the hard work done on AAT, I would take advantage of the exemptions available to me!!!!

I also felt the same about PEV-lets keep our fingers crossed!!

I would also advise to register with CIMA now as if you don't the cut off date for November exams is 31/7-and as we don't get our results till August 17th-you won't be able to sit the exams. If you register now, CIMA make exeption s for AAT students awaiting final results & extend the deadline!

good luck!

    These are questions that I asked CIMA and FTC (who I will hopefully study with)...

~~~~~~
Can I submit certified copies of the necessary documents to prove that I have passed AAT after 17/08/2005? (The day the results are due). I note from your website that you require this information by 31/07/2005
What would happen if I started to study Managerial Level papers (my favoured course starts on 09/08/2005) and I later discovered that I had failed an AAT Technician exam?
~~~~~~

And this is a copy of a reply from FTC...

~~~~~~
Further to your queries regarding registration with CIMA:
1) You will need to provide a letter to CIMA upon registration from your college stating that you have sat your final Technician exams. Then once you have received your results, notify CIMA so they can award you the relevant exemptions.
2) If you fail any of your technician papers you will be withdrawn from any exams you have entered with CIMA. With regards to your study with our college we can defer your courses until the following sitting at a charge of £50 per paper if you need to resit any AAT exams.
Please let me know if you require any further information and good look with your results.
~~~~~~

    Hi, the previous responses are correct in that you can't get your exemptions and enter for Cima Managerial Level in November without having finished AAT. However, it also depends on who you are studying with, some of the colleges/unis (as opposed to training providers like BPP/FTC) do Cima over a year to exams in May, rather than Nov and May. If you were studying in this way you could start in September as well as retaking PEV. Even if you don't want this route, you could get books and start studying on your own sooner. Cima is tough, and any extra time you put in will pay off. Fingers crossed you'll pass and it won't be an issue! YOu should definitely register with Cima now to keep your options open if you can afford to pay the fees.
