Hi
Ive just done intermediate and now going on to do tech level. Could anyone advise on best books please. For intemediate my tutors advised BPP books but many of us on the course found that they just made matters worse! I then bought some Osborne books and they were much more user friendly. So whatn do you think for tech?? Could you tell me the exact titles please so i can start ordering and maybe opening!!
Thanks

Hi

I'm doing technician via home study with Premier Training who use Osbourne Books. Highly recommend them. They are very easy to follow, well laid out and have lots of examples and practice questions.

:-)0 -
FTC's books are good as well. Explanations for dummies - suited me very well!0 -

FTC books were very user friendly, specially DFS which I found clearly laid-out examples. Although we have used osbourne books at college but personally I like FTC books.
0 -

I've just completed 3 years of study, sat technician this year, and all 3 years used Osbourne Books - our college recommended them as we were told that they are written by someone who works closely with AAT. Having said that if I have to resit any exams (which is highly likely) I will also buy BPP revision books which give previous exam papers but should be used in conjunction with the text books.
0 -

I managed to spread myself out a bit, I used Osborne in Foundation, FTC in intermediate and a mixture of FTC and BPP in technician. I did like the Osborne books but not the fact that the work book answers aren't readily available!! My personal preference is FTC as they explain the syllabus and do not put too much extra info in which BPP does. I find that BPP go above and beyond the knowledge but if you can do all the BPP questions then you are unlikely to fail the exam.

FTC don't offer my current taught course in my area so I now use BPP and think they are great (you get the text books free with the course) but I do try and get the FTC book as well via ebay as I like to have extra examples and a different way of putting things.

I guess it's all personal preference really.0 -

i have used FTC and osbourne books, FTC are useless, trust me! but order through your college. if your college cannot provide you with osbourne books then request them from your Tutor. i struggled this year of technician because FTC books were just something to fill my book shelf if you get wat i mean. if you can get hold of osbouorne books please do get them. and if you are buying seconds, check that they are for the new standards.0
